Stunningly beautiful, pure silk, hand embroidered robe. Each is totally unique and "one of a kind".
This has got to be the most beautiful robe you could find. Somewhere between a jacket and a wrap, this beautiful piece gives a fabulous understated elegance that will be much admired.
The beautiful textile used in this piece originates from the West Bengal area in India. The exquisite Nakshi Kantha stitching (a form of embroidery) is done by women artisans and each robe is uniquely different in its pattern. These artisans are paid fairly for their extraordinary skills, and work in a free and open environment, often forming social groups for companionship whilst working.
This is a free size wrap; we also like to call it a robe! It is hand crafted from a single length of fabric to showcase the beautiful silk and exquisite embroidery.
This robe is made from a hand woven Tussar silk, which has then been delicately hand embroidered all over using a Nakshi Kantha stitch, and comes in 3 colours. Nakshi Kantha embroidery is made up of motifs influenced by religion, culture and the lives of the women stitching them. The fabric is light and soft and has a gentle drape. This piece is unlined, making it easy to wear. Dress it up for an evening out, or pop it on over a tee shirt and jeans for a styllsh day outfit.
Made from: This exquisite robe had been made from 100% pure hand woven Tussar silk which has been delicately hand embroidered all over using a pure cotton Nakshi Kantha stitch. Some pieces - due to the hand made nature of this wonderful robe - will have tail threads on the inside and faint tracing lines of the pattern (which will wash out).
Hand wash separately in cold water and mild detergent. Do not soak. Drip dry in shade.
