These beautiful shawls are hand woven in the Himalayas. They are super-soft, warm and lightweight. They are made from a blend of local Himalayan wool and Merino wool.
The yarn used is hand dyed naturally with Harada, Indigo and Lac, then hand woven into beautiful shawls which have a fabulous plump and cosy weave.
The shawls are environmentally friendly as only natural fibres and natural dyes are used, and they are made using a hand loom. The dyeing is done by our partners using a number of naturally occurring materials, most of which are plants. These include Sappanwood, Madder, Tesu (flame of the forest), Indigo, Pomegranate, Myrobalan (Harada), Henna and Shellac.
The length of the scarf is approx 210 cm and width 65 cm. In addition, there are tassels of roughly 7 cms length. There may be slight variations in the size of these shawls as they are made on a hand loom. Any small inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing, we believe, just add to the character of this shawl. Natural dyes will subtly change colour over time; we just love the individuality this produces for each shawl.
We recommend you dry clean this shawl. However, you can hand wash gently with non-biological liquid. Dry flat in the shade.
