These scarves are hand woven in the village of Bhuj in the Kutch Desert by a very talented weaver from the Vankar community of weavers.
The shawl is embellished with extra weft, making the distinctive motifs found in the weaving techniques in this region.
Kala cotton is used, which is an indigenous organic cotton grown in this area. It is a thicker textured cotton with a lovely slubbed effect, which will get softer with every wash and wear.
Kala cotton needs little water to flourish - one good monsoon a year!
AZO-free dye has been used. 60cm x 200 cm approx. Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent, line dry, iron if necessary.
These scarves have been quarantined by us, and have been hand washed in non biological liquid before dispatch to you.
