This beautiful hand woven scarf comes to us from a women's Charitable Trust in India. Each scarf has been made using a khadi cotton and hand spun tussar silk. The weave is sensational! The charitable trust employs several hundred women spinners and weavers from rural communities. The women come from the lowest social and economic strata of India; from highly marginalised communities. This work provides their only source of income (which is fairly paid) along with training, regular work and safe working conditions. The trust provides free schooling and health care for the weavers and their families. AZO free dye is used and each scarf bears the weaver's name.
200cm x 50cm. Please treat your shawl kindly. Hand wash separately. Do not soak. Dry in the shade.
